Test and Validation Engineer
Full-Time | Sioux Falls, SD

We’re looking for a hands-on and analytical Test and Validation Engineer to help ensure our products perform safely, reliably, and to the highest quality standards. In this role, you’ll design and run test programs for new and existing equipment, analyze results, and partner with cross-functional teams to improve product design and performance. The right candidate will bring curiosity, technical skill, and a proactive approach to both field and lab-based validation work.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead all testing activities with a commitment to safety and precision.

  • Plan and execute tests that evaluate product performance, durability, and safety—both in lab simulations and in real-world field conditions.

  • Design and build test systems and fixtures to replicate demanding environments.

  • Develop detailed test plans, schedule resources, and track progress within the broader project timeline.

  • Collect and analyze data, interpret results, and communicate findings through well-documented technical reports.

  • Oversee the full Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) process, ensuring traceability and clarity in validation activities.

  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to integrate design changes and feedback from testing.

  • Apply Lean practices to improve testing efficiency, reliability, and repeatability.

  • Support prototype builds, production validation, and field trials, occasionally traveling to off-site locations (up to 15%).

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, Automotive, or related Engineering field (test or validation focus preferred).

  • Hands-on experience with test instrumentation and data systems such as eDaq, Dewesoft, and sensors (strain, pressure, flow, or acceleration).

  • Background in fatigue and high-cycle testing, vibration analysis, modal studies, and rotor balancing.

  • Familiarity with PLC programming for automation and measurement setups.

  • Strong analytical approach with the ability to troubleshoot, conduct root cause analysis, and propose design improvements.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing technical documentation.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and general digital workflow systems.

Additional Requirements

  • Comfort operating or testing with equipment such as tractors, excavators, or skid-steer loaders.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., operate tools, and perform hands-on testing throughout an 8-hour shift.
