On-Site Network Print Technician

This is an on-site network print technician role located in Maplewood, MN. The selected resource will be trained on client Print Support and processes and will join a  team that provides support to the Global Printer environment platform.

 
  1. Implement Technical standards and practices, documentation, and direction for the Office Printing space, and also HP printers used in non-Office roles.
    1. Global Print Device Fleet security and configuration standards
    2. Global Print Server setup and management standards
    3. How-to’s and documents pertaining to print application use and management.
  2. Administer global HP print device fleet.
    1. Primary admin for Corporate Campus with 5,000 + User base
    2. Consultant admin for HP Printers elsewhere: Site/Country IT leads get final authority.
    3. Manage firmware updates, device security, discovery and network device inventories.
  3. Assess, architect, test, deploy and administer Print applications.
    1. HP Access Control (Campus Cloud Printing)
    2. HP Web Jetadmin
    3. JetAdmin Security Center
    4. HP Secure Print (future Cloud Print solution)
  4. Administer lab and testing environments
    1. Print Device Lab
    2. Test print servers and application servers
    3. Dedicated test workstations in Citrix platform
    4. Perform testing and validation on incoming printer models; and pursuant to any proposed changes in config standards.
    5. Testing and validation of any print driver or application changes, updates, or new version deployments.
  5. Support for printers and print applications.
    1. Service tickets pertaining to Cloud Print system (problems, new device adds, etc.).
    2. Engage vendor support for owned Print applications.
    3. Final escalation point for HP printer problems/class-level issues.
    4. Consult and advise local IT regarding print-related problems and questions.
    5. Manage problem escalation to HP or relevant vendor when required.
    6. General consultation for any other non-standard application or environment printing issues (SAP, Mainframe, Citrix, Linux, Acquisitions, etc.)
  6. ITSM CI Hardware Swap and new CI registration approvals.
  7. Custodian for Print related AD Security groups and NPSA’s.
