Job Title: Sr. Manager Operations - Insourcing / M&A
Summary:
The Sr. Manager Operations - Insourcing / M&A leads the transition of outsourced functions to in-house operations, playing a strategic role in driving operational efficiency and scalability. Reporting to the VP of Operations, this role combines deep operations knowledge with M&A expertise to manage due diligence, financial planning, and integration efforts—particularly in regulated manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Insourcing Strategy & Execution: Identify and evaluate outsourced functions for insourcing. Oversee full lifecycle from analysis and financial modeling to integration.
M&A Project Leadership: Manage end-to-end insourcing projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business goals.
New Product Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new products into in-house operations efficiently.
Process Design & Optimization: Implement lean processes for insourced functions to drive quality, scalability, and cost control.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Development, Supply Chain, Quality, and other teams to ensure seamless transitions.
Budget & Risk Management: Develop budgets, manage costs, and identify risks with mitigation plans.
Supplier Transition: Oversee shift from external suppliers to internal teams, ensuring operational readiness and minimal disruption.
Training & Quality Assurance: Support team training and uphold product quality through robust QA practices.
Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to streamline operations and reduce waste.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred)
10+ years in operations or manufacturing, including 5+ years in management
Proven experience in insourcing or operational M&A
Strong knowledge of lean principles and cost optimization
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills
Proficiency in ERP systems, PM tools, and MS Office
Preferred:
Regulated industry experience (medical device, pharma, automotive)
Six Sigma or Lean certification
Background in new product introduction or scale-up
Work Environment:
Full-time, on-site position with occasional travel for supplier visits and site transitions
